Alexandra studied Art and Architectural History at Miami University before moving to Scotland in 2008, where she attained an MA in History from the University of Glasgow. In Scotland, Alexandra worked for the Glasgow City Heritage Trust and Auld Reekie Tours in Edinburgh before returning to the USA. There, she worked as an historian for prominent historical organizations including The Charleston Museum and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. In 2014, she worked in Germany as a consultant historian for the rehabilitation of the 800-year-old Schloss Bröllin estate.
She established Houselore in 2016, and now focuses on expanding the company’s offerings through the combination of technology, historical research, and unique human experience. She is based between Charleston, South Carolina and Edinburgh, Scotland.
